LOGAN TOWNSHIP -- Police are investigating the finances of the Newburg Volunteer Fire Departments social club after officials became suspicious about missing funds. Logan Township police chief Tim Mercer said the fire company's new president approached police last week with concerns about money that appeared to be unaccounted for in the company's books.

(WSET) Hammerhead worms have been spotted across the United States - most recently in the East Coast. The recent reporting stated the worm was in Washington, D.C. and Virginia. Theresa Dellinger, an entomologist with the Insect Identification Lab at Virginia Tech, explained that the worm has been around for some time.

BENEZETTE The 2018 Pennsylvania elk hunt kicked off Monday with its check station at a new location. The check station is located at the Keystone Elk Country Visitor Center on Homestead Drive in Benezette.

A boxer who got her start in Punxsutawney is now fighting for a spot in the Olympics. Trinity Burke now trains at Team 412 in Pittsburgh, but Helman's boxing gym in Punxsutawney was where her journey started.
